Arnold Schwarzenegger seemed more than entranced by his leading lady on the red carpet last night.
The 65-year-old actor gave actress Jaimie Alexander an affectionate kiss and cuddle as they attended the premiere of their new film, The Last Stand.
28-year-old Jaimie, who is currently dating Twilight’s Peter Facinelli, wore an eye-catching cream gown with a plunging neckline and seemed amused by her co-star’s attention.
They were joined on the red carpet by some of the film’s other stars, Johnny Knoxville and actress Genesis Rodriquez.
This is Arnold’s first leading role since 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
The Last Stand sees the former governor of California play a small town sheriff in Arizona, who must contend with a drug cartel leader and prevent him escaping across the border to Mexico. The film has been receiving rave reviews, with Arnold’s role in particular being singled out for praise.
In recent years it is the star’s personal life more than his political or acting career that has made the headlines.
In 2011, it was announced that he was separating from his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver. The couple have four children together, Christopher, Patrick, Katherine and Christina.
It also emerged around this time that the Terminator star had fathered a son, Joseph, with his housekeeper Mildred Baena, who was pregnant at the same time his wife Maria was carrying their son Christopher.
Arnold was not aware that the child was his until Joseph became a toddler and began to clearly resemble his famous father.
He paid for his illegitimate son’s upkeep but wife Maria was not aware of Joseph’s existence until Arnold confessed in a counselling session in 2011.
Meanwhile, Thor star Jaimie started dating Peter Facinelli late last year, following his divorce from 90210’s Jennie Garth. She joined the cast of hit TV series, Nurse Jackie, which Peter also stars in, in 2010.
Jaimie told People magazine in Decemeber: “We've been friends forever and had a lot of mutual friends and we reconnected in the middle of the year. It was one of those things where I'd been single for a very long time and he was going through a lot. We sort of bonded."
She added: It's very new to me and it's scary. But it's also something we don't want to give up on because I know how it makes me feel in my heart. It makes me feel really good."
