Get behind Trapattoni, says Quinn

FOOTBALL legend Niall Quinn has called on football fans to give Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni another chance.

"After the Germany game I was totally disillusioned – like every fan, I think," he told the Irish Independent.

"The manager came very close to losing his job, but that didn't happen and now he's been given a bit of time. You have to respect that and get behind the team.

"There's still a chance that the team will make it to the tournament. You wouldn't put it past him (Trapattoni), with his record over the years."

He was speaking at the launch of Botanic House Bar and Grill in Glasnevin, Dublin.

A host of celebrities turned out for the occasion, including Lisa Duffy – wife of Boyzone singer Keith DuffyBrian Kennedy and RTE star Katherine Lynch.
