PREMIERSHIP star Shane Long has attended the funeral of his grandmother who passed away at the weekend.
Elizabeth Long (99), from Grange, Barna, Thurles, Co Tipperary, was the mother of Shane's late father, Eammon Long, who passed away following a heart attack in 2003.
The Parish Priest of Gortnahoe-Glengoole, Fr Tony Ryan, told mourners at the Sacred Heart Church that Elizabeth was always very proud of her 25-year-old grandson's achievements.
The West Brom striker, who attended the 11.15am funeral Mass with his mother Anne, dedicated his sixth League goal of the season, which he scored in his side's 2-1 defeat of Chelsea on Saturday, to his late grandmother.
