Sandra Huberman, mother of the 'Threesome' actress, paid a visit to baby Sadie at the National Maternity Hospital in Dublin's Holles Street.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, the proud grandmother said the couple could not be happier.

A source confirmed that Huberman, who was due later this month, underwent an emergency caesarean section on Sunday morning.

Rugby star O'Driscoll was at her bedside on the day before heading off to the Aviva Stadium for Ireland's Six Nations match against England.

Grandmother Sandra had been at the IFTAs on Saturday night with her daughter while O'Driscoll stayed with his teammates in the Shelbourne Hotel.

She said her 33-year-old daughter was in good form. "Amy's flying, we're so delighted," she said. "It's our first grandchild and we're thrilled. She's beautiful."

O'Driscoll left the Shelbourne yesterday morning as the squad went their separate ways after Sunday's 12-6 defeat.

He dashed home to change before returning to visit his wife and daughter at the hospital, where he spent nearly three hours.

Strict visiting regulations meant none of the couple's extended family or friends were allowed access to the maternity ward's private wing.

A member of staff told the Irish Independent that only fathers and grandparents are allowed to visit mothers and newborns.

PR guru Joanne Byrne was spotted dropping off a gift for the baby, but did not stay.

O'Driscoll is a keen fan of social networking site Twitter, but he posted only one comment for followers to see yesterday. It was a simple "good morning" response to actress Victoria Smurfit, a friend of the couple, who wished baby Sadie well.
