It was the picturesque St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Kent that Bob Geldof and Paula Yates chose for their wedding in 1986.

Their three daughters – Peaches, Fifi Trixibelle and Pixie – were all christened there and it was also where Peaches chose to marry her husband, Tom Cohen, in 2012.

But it has also been the setting of personal tragedy and heartbreak – Paula Yates funeral was held there following her death from a heroin overdose in 2000.

Today it is where Peaches Geldof will be laid to rest.

Bouquets were left outside the church by locals following the 25-year-old’s sudden death on April 7.

Her husband, a singer with defunct punk band S.C.U.M, raised the alarm and became increasingly concerned that his wife was not answering her phone.

Kent Police reportedly arrived on the scene to find the columnist dead with her 11-month-old son Phaedra Bloom Forever by her side.

Her death is being treated as ‘noon-suspicious but unexplained and sudden’.

A post-mortem proved inconclusive and results of toxicology tests are expected in coming weeks.

News of her passing left her family and the media stunned.

“She was so full of energy,” broadcaster Ryan Tubridy said, “and in such a hurry to get everything done – in such a hurry to grow up.”

Peaches was initially labelled as something of a wild child who had an impulsive wedding in the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas.

But the memory of her mother encouraged her to venture down a different path.

“I could have left myself spiral, but all the time I remembered what happened my mum,” she said in 2012.

Her marriage to Cohen and the arrival of their two sons brought a level of stability to her life.

The private funeral will be attended by relatives and close family friends.

It is believed Pixie Geldof will speak at the funeral and afterwards family members will return to Bob Geldof’s home.
