The 22-year-old actress was placed under arrest by Canadian police after they found her boyfriend with a bloody nose and bite marks.
Actress Emma Roberts was arrested for domestic violence against her boyfriend, Evan Peters, 26. The actress was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning in Montreal after a heated argument where she and Peters physically assaulted one another.
The young couple were staying at a Montreal hotel, when other guests began to complain about noise levels. Upon arrival, police discovered Peters had a bloody nose and alleged bite marks on his neck. Roberts was immediately arrested and is not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
She has since been released from police custody and prosecutors have dropped all charges against the Wild Child actress, who is Julia Roberts' niece. A spokesperson for Ms Roberts confirmed the arrest, deeming it "unfortunate".
"It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding," the spokesperson explained. "Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."
Roberts and Peters have been dating for just over a year, after meeting on the set of upcoming comedy Adult World, and both have decided to work through their issues and stay together.
"It was really fun, getting to be at Tribeca together," she said on filming the flick where she met Peters. "It was nice, because the work stuff gets boring sometimes, so to have your friends and family and your boyfriend there, it makes it a lot easier and a lot more fun."
The pair recently walked the red carpet together for the premiere of Disney's The Lone Ranger.
