Sir Elton John is the subject of rumours that he has become a father for a second time.
A US newspaper has reported that the singing superstar and his civil partner David Furnish have welcomed a second child with the same surrogate mother who gave birth to their son Zachary.
But Elton's spokesperson in the UK said: "Reports that Elton John and David Furnish have had a second child are false."
The New York Post was the first to report the claims, but Elton's US publicist refused to comment, saying: "We never discuss our client's personal lives."
It is rumoured the couple will officially announce the new arrival in Us Weekly magazine, the same magazine which featured the news of Zachary's birth on its front cover.
Elton, 65, and David, 50, became parents to Zachary on Christmas Day 2010 and have since spoken of their desire to have another child.
In an interview with Guardian last year, the Rocket Man singer said it was inevitable that the toddler would face pressure over his family life as he is growing up.
"I think it's difficult to be an only child, and to be an only child of someone famous. I want him to have a sibling so he has someone to be with."
