Actress Drew Barrymore has posed for the first time with her baby daughter Olive, who was born in September.
In an accompanying interview in the latest issue of People magazine, the 37-year-old spoke of her love for her first born and explained how her life had completely change.
She said: “I couldn't eat or sleep for two weeks, I was just so nervous! You have the highest highs and yet you're facing the biggest fear of, "How do I keep someone alive?"
The Never Been Kissed star married art dealer Will Kopelman in July and the actress explained how their happy union gave her the security she needed to bring a child into the world.
She said: “I 'I really wanted a wonderful traditional home for my kid. Will comes from a strong family, he provides a strong family ... It just makes me so emotional because it's like a miracle.'
Earlier this month, Drew revealed the inspiration behind her daughter’s name.
"I never would have guessed that would have been the name," she told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
"But I was reading a book with my husband. I was three months pregnant and they said your baby is the size of an olive, and that was it. We never looked back."
Ellen quipped to that the child could have ended up with a far worse name.
Among the TV star’s suggestions were Peanut, Grapefruit and Kidney Bean.
"It could have been," Drew laughed.
“It was a lot fruit and vegetables... Kidney's not such a fun name.”
