RAY D'Arcy and his partner Jenny Kelly are celebrating the arrival of their first child.
Kate D'Arcy arrived into the world shortly after 8pm on Saturday night weighing "seven pounds and a little bit".
And the Today FM DJ declared: "She's perfect.
"But Jenny keeps saying she's so cute she wants to eat her so I've warned the nurses to keep an eye on her."
The 41-year-old was obviously still in shock yesterday morning as he gushed about the new addition and was flooded with congratulations from listeners. "I really see the world in a whole new way now and I hope this glow doesn't fade," he said.
He also revealed that Jenny's labour was brought on by Paul Stokes from Monkstown, Co Dublin, who stormed the stage on Friday night's 'Late, Late Show'.
The couple sat down to watch the chatshow and joked they would 'bore the baby' into arriving. "Jenny couldn't stop laughing after seeing what had happened and had to go to the toilet," said Ray.
And less than 24-hours later Kate was born at Mount Carmel Hospital.
The Kildare man is also delighted his daughter has all the signs of growing tall.
"You're not going to believe this but she actually has very long legs," he laughed.
Just last week he devoted an entire show attempting to prove he is 5' 9" but was thwarted after being measured by station manager, Willie O'Reilly. He came back down to earth after being told he was, in fact, just over 5' 8".
He will go on paternity leave and newlywed Annemarie Kelly will deputise.
