ACTOR Gerard Depardieu has been fined €4,000 and had his driver's licence suspended for six months for drink driving after he fell off his scooter in Paris.
The 64-year old plans to appeal, according to his lawyer Eric de Caumont, who added the star did not attend court as he was in Moscow filming. He had faced a maximum two-year jail term after he was found to have over three times the legal alcohol limit in his blood during the incident in November.
This in not Mr Depardieu's first scrape with the law over drinking. In 1998, he crashed his motorcycle when he was five times over the limit. And in 2011 he infamously tried to urinate in a bottle aboard a plane. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
