Demi Lovato has tweeted about her father's funeral, saying she hopes good things will come from his death.
The X Factor USA judge and singer opened up to followers about the recent death of her dad.
She tweeted: "Today I put my Daddy to rest... hardest thing I've ever done... But I know great things will come of this... #LovatoTreatmentScholarship.
"There's an overwhelming sense of peace knowing my dad is no longer battling his demons any more and that makes me so happy.
"I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers... God bless you all, thank you so much."
Demi, 20, set up the Lovato Treatment Scholarship to cover the treatment expenses for one person at a time who is struggling with mental illness or addiction.
She told Good Morning America: "I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. My father dealt with mental illnesses and he wasn't able to function in society and that happens a lot to people.
"My father and I didn't have the most ideal relationship, but at the end of the day he's still my dad and I grew up with him and he was a wonderful person. It's difficult, but I'm handling it ok."
