DeGeneres tops Out's Power 50 list
Ellen DeGeneres has topped Out magazine's Power 50 list.
The US chat show host - who is married to actress Portia De Rossi - was number one in the annual ranking of influential Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender voices, climbing from second place in the 2013 list.
The magazine said on its website that "everybody loves Ellen", adding: "In March, The Ellen DeGeneres Show shattered its own 10-year ratings record in the episode that immediately followed her Academy Awards hosting gig, which also gave the awards its best ratings since 2004. And her star-studded Oscars selfie almost shut down Twitter when the pic became the most retweeted ever."
Other celebs who have made this year's list include actor Neil Patrick Harris, musician Frank Ocean, Glee creator Ryan Murphy and its star Jane Lynch, who plays cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester.
Inception actress Ellen Page makes her debut on the Power List at number 29, after coming out earlier this year.
In February the actress spoke out at a Las Vegas conference of counsellors who work with teenagers who identify as LGBT, telling the crowd: "I'm here today because I am gay."
