GIRLS Aloud singer Nadine Coyle helped launch Derry's term as UK City of Culture.
She was among several stars who turned up to ensure the celebrations kicked off in spectacular style.
She joined stars such as Phil Coulter, The Undertones, Paul Brady, Snow Patrol, Neil Hannon and Eurovision winner Dana.
The A-list line-up, which also included 'Hobbit' star James Nesbitt and 'Silent Witness' actress Amanda Burton, showed just why Derry was able to beat off competition from dozens of larger cities to claim the inaugural cultural title.
Around 2,000 guests, who received free tickets in a BBC draw, attended the event, which was televised live on BBC.
