Toxicology tests will show later today that the mother-of-two died from a heroin overdose, The Times of London has reported.

The TV star and mother of two was found dead at her country home last month with police describing her death as 'non-suspicious'.

A post-mortem examination carried out at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford proved inconclusive, prompting further investigations.

Samples of her blood and tissue were sent off to a laboratory for toxicology tests.

A 10-minute hearing is expected to take place today.

A statement released by a spokesperson for the coroner revealed that a statement from a senior police officer will be heard and the coroner will announce the cause of death.

Coroner Roger Hatch will hold a brief hearing in Gravesend, Kent this afternoon. The inquest will be adjourned to a date in July to allow relatives such as Peaches' husband Thomas Cohen and her father Bob Geldof to attend.

Peaches had a history of drug use, but had more recently presented the image of a contented mother to her young sons Astala (2) and 12-month-old Phaedra.

She was an advocate of 'attachment parenting' and regularly posted pictures of herself and her family on her Instagram account.

It's understood Phaeda was by his mother's side when she died.

Despite Peaches' image as a contented young mum, the long shadow caused by the death of her mother Paula Yates always remained in the background.

Ms Yates was found dead in 2000 at her home in Notting Hill, London, having taken a heroin overdose.

Her then four-year-old daughter Tiger Lily was by her side.

Tiger was Paula's daughter by INXS frontman Michael Hutchence who took his own life in a Sydney hotel room in 1997.

Hours before Peaches was found dead on April 7, she posted a picture of herself and her mother on the internet.

The socialite’s funeral took place at the St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in the Kent village of Davington in Faversham on April 21.

It was the same church where her mother’s funeral – and her own wedding to husband Thomas Cohen – had taken place.

Mourners wept as her sky blue coffin arrived at the church. It had been painted to show an image of Peaches together with her musician husband Tom Cohen, their two sons Astala, aged 23 months, and Phaedra, 11 months, alongside their pets, was carried into the church.

Kate Moss, Jamie Hince, Alexa Chung, Nick Grimshaw, Bill Wyman, Jools Holland and the Duchess of York were among the famous faces that attended the service, as were Jo Wood, Eliza Doolittle, Johnny Borrell, Alan McGee, Mariella Frostrup and husband Jason McCue.

Peaches was previously linked with heroin when her friend Freddy McConnell (18) died of an overdose in 2011.

His inquest heard that he had written in his diary a few months earlier: "Peaches is coming over later and I am going to inject for the first time. Perhaps I will die. I hope I don't."

Peaches' father Bob Geldof is originally from Dun Laoghaire and formed the Boomtown Rats in the late 1970s.

He later went to found the massive Live Aid concerts in the 1980s and worked to highlight famine and poverty in Africa.

He was married to Paula Yates and the couple had three daughters Fifi Trixibelle (31), Peaches and Pixie (23).

After she died in 2000, her daughter Tiger Lily, now 17,  was adopted by Bob Geldof.

Bob has been in a relationship with French actress Jeanne Marine (49) for the past 18 years.

He released a statement after Peaches' death describing her as the "wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and most bonkers of us all'.
