Copper star Tom Weston-Jones has admitted he loves getting trophy injuries from his fight scenes.
The British actor plays Kevin 'Corky' Corcoran, an Irish immigrant police detective trying to keep the peace in 1860s New York City in the US show, now airing on LoveFilm.
Tom revealed: "I really enjoy the fighting and I really thrive off that sort of thing. I like getting cuts and scrapes and bruises. It feels quite rewarding when you come away with a bruise. That sounds a bit odd doesn't it, but it feels rewarding!"
The 26-year-old actor, who was born in Burton on Trent, loved filming the show on location in Toronto, but admitted he misses the pubs at home.
He said: "I don't drink as much as Corky but I do enjoy going to the pub. It's one thing I miss about the UK when I'm away, is pub food and local ale. But I'd be hesitant to say I enjoy drinking as much!"
The BBC America show has recently been cancelled after two series, but there is talk of making it into a film.
