Christmas cliche: David Beckham gets Victoria two pairs of silk PJs for Christmas
HE may have millions to spend, but it seems David Beckham is like any other man and struggles when it comes to thinking of something different for the wife.
The soccer star has reportedly purchased two pairs of deluxe silk pyjamas for Victoria's Christmas present.
Beckam, who has also modelled for Armani and H&M, is rumoured to have ordered the luxury sleepwear from London's high end department store Harrods.
According to Women's Wear Daily, David made the call this week placing an order for two pairs of Olivia von Halle pyjamas.
Olivia is an English-born designer who has taken inspiration from the lounging pyjamas of Coco Chanel and 1920s contemporaries in creating her sleepwear line. The unique height-based sizing system of Olivia's silky slouching sets means they not only fit beautifully but are tailored to be flattering on the figure too.
Olivia has previously worked as a trend forecaster, and her glamorous line of pyjamas have already received mass orders despite her label being set up just two years ago.
Prices for a pair of these timelessly chic sleepwear sets start at €319 and are sold in Harrods and Fenwick in the UK and Nancy Meyer and Faire Frou Frou in the US.
In a recent interview Olivia discussed the trend for wearing sleepwear as outerwear. She explained she is partial to stepping out in public in her pyjamas.
"Absolutely! But I must admit I have worn them with wellies and an old fur to walk the dog a lot more than I have worn them to dinner…" Olivia laughed.
It's been a busy week in fashion for the trend setting Beckhams.
The couple's 10-year-old Romeo was announced as the new face of Burberry.
The couple's second son joins a British cast featuring the likes of Cara Delevigne in the fashion house's Spring/Summer 2013 ad campaign.
And Victoria announced that she will launch her own website, victoriabeckham.com in the new year, selling the former Spice Girl's accessories, eyewear, denim and her clothes label.
After getting her Christmas gift, she may decide to do her own range of silk pyjamas next year...
