Chastain: Awards season was intense

Jessica Chastain missed out on an Oscar this year

Jessica Chastain has thanked her fans for their support through awards season.

The Zero Dark Thirty star - who lost out to Silver Linings Playbook's Jennifer Lawrence for best actress at the Oscars - admitted it had been an "intense" few days but thanked her fans for helping her live her dream.

She wrote on Facebook: "The past week has been intense for numerous reasons, but I have finally stuck my head above water.

"I feel happy, rested, and so very grateful."

The 35-year-old went on: "There was a special moment the other night at the Oscars 2013 - 85th Academy Awards while watching Barbra Streisand sing Memories - I looked over at my Grandma and she had tears in her eyes. It was wonderful to be there with her, watching her favourite singer perform her favourite song."

Jessica added to her fans: "And thank you to you all, for your constant positivity and love. I would not be living this dream without you."
