Boyband signs up for anti-bullying drive

One Direction's cover of Blondie's One Way Or Another has taken the top slot in the singles chart
One Direction have signed up to an anti-bullying campaign.

WORLD-conquering boyband One Direction are to appear on billboards across Ireland in support of the ISPCC Shield anti-bullying campaign.

This morning, the five members will follow in the footsteps of Colin Farrell and Saoirse Ronan by being photographed for the campaign by acclaimed snapper Barry McCall.

And they will join Irish stars The Script in lending a hand to the campaign.

ISPCC board member Caroline Downey said the value of One Direction to the campaign was immense: "The fans of One Direction are absolutely crucial to what we are trying to achieve, which is to raise awareness among the age group most affected by bullying.

"It sends out a message that if One Direction stand up against bullying so should you," she told the Irish Independent.

Ms Downey said that Mullingar member Niall Horan had been key to getting the boyband on board. "I made a call to Niall and he said 'yes', and promised he would bring the rest of the band on-board."
