Birthday girls Una Healy and Holly Carpenter are surprised by their sportsmen on their big days
IRISH beauties Una Healy and Holly Carpenter celebrated their birthdays this week with their sports star boyfriends surpising both of them separately.
Una Healy turned 31 while in LA with The Saturdays, and hubbie Ben Foden flew out to be with her and baby Aoife Belle for her special day.
The Tipperary girl partied with her gal pals in LA in a stunning backless red sparkly dress that showed off her shapely figure to its maximum.
In contrast new hubby Ben looked positively scruffy in jeans and a denim shirt as he came in on crutches to the party.
The couple were joined by Una’s Saturday’s bandmates as they dined and posted pics on Instagram from their celebrations.
Meanwhile former Miss Ireland Holly Carpenter was presented with a pair of €800 Christian Louboutins for her 21st, by rugby beau Cian Healy.
The Raheny model, who returned to her studies in UCD this month, was clearly delighted with the present:
“When I took out the box and saw Christian Louboutin on the cover I started shaking.”
“I couldn’t believe it. I think he thought I’d been hinting for ages. Every time we go shopping I’m point out things I like, but I didn’t think he would actually get me a pair.”
Holly gave her verdict on the iconic red soled heels when she gave them their first outing this week: “They’re actually really comfortable. But I’m well used to heels.”
Cian, who will line out for Leinster as they begin their defence of the Heineken Cup tomorrow night, joked: “Yeah, Gok Wan I am”.
The rugby player also bought Holly an old school Polaroid camera for her big day.
“He got me a great Polaroid camera. I’ve wanted one for ages but they are really hard to find. They’re pretty rare these days. I think it took him a good while to track it down.”
Last week, Cian celebrated his 25th birthday.
But Holly wasn't quite as extravagant as Cian when it came to birthday gifts. “I hadn’t a clue what to get him because he can get himself anything. So I decided to go down the sentimental route - I baked him cupcakes and painted a picture of his dog Ted.”
