On Tuesday night, Channel 6's Jenny Buckley attended the opening of Eejit of Love at the Samuel Beckett Theatre, along with Peter Sheridan, Aonghus McAnally, Shay Healy and Anita Reeves. Those two well-known luvvies Brian Ormond and Pippa O'Connor were also present. Hmmm...

Speaking of Jenny Buckley (who is attending her beautiful sister-in-law Nicola McClean's wedding to NYPD grand fromage Paul McCormack this Saturday in the Shelbourne), she and Michelle Doherty hooked up last weekend to support fellow Channel 6 personality Rob Davis at his latest gig, Orphancode in Whelans. It was, however, an early night for the gals, as Michelle had to hit the hay to be up for her new slot, Finest Work Songs on Phantom FM.

There was no such early night for best-selling Irish author Melissa Hill, who launched her new tome at Richard Corrigan's Bentley's. FM104 CEO Margaret Nelson (who celebrated her birthday in Italy at the weekend) was there, as was publishing supremo Norah Casey, who celebrated her own birthday last week in Bentley's. Melissa's party ran to the small hours later at L'Ecrivain, with the likes of Sheila Crowley (Melissa's proud agent), Norah Casey, L'Ecrivain co-owner, Sallyanne Clarke, and the author herself with her husband, Kevin. They had much to celebrate: the book went in at number one.

I hear Norah also raised a glass to her recent success in the High Court in adding Aer Lingus as a defendant in her battle over the tender for the Cara contract.

There was a lot of raising of glasses as the Solomon Gallery held a private viewing of Collectibles on Wednesday night.

In a farewell speech, owner Suzanne McDougald, dedicated the last exhibition at the Powerscourt premises to the late Vincent Ferguson, one of her first backers in the gallery. Vincent's family, including widow Noeleen and children, Ciara, Johnny and Conor, attended, as did Patrick Murphy (Director, RHA), the British ambassador David Reddaway and that blonde beauty, Clodagh Kean.

Clodagh's estranged husband Gerald, meanwhile, was at a ball in the Burlington Hotel on Friday night with that other blonde beauty, Lisa Murphy.

The charity evening was in aid of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice. FG leader Enda Kenny and GOAL's John O'Shea was expected at Gerald and Lisa's table. Lisa's BF, restaurateur Ann-Marie Nohl was also due to pitch up on a blind date.
