Christina Applegate was delighted after her fans hacked Wikipedia, inserting joke information about her.

The 38-year-old actress wrote on social networking site Twitter that she had just discovered the internet information site had incorrect details about her, including that Christina had been a founding member of the Pussycat Dolls and that she won an Oscar for her role in 2002 gross-out comedy The Sweetest Thing.

The Samantha Who star tweeted: "I can't believe u changed the wiki. I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! Mostly proud of that Oscar for Sweetest Thing!"

She went on: "Did you know I have a truffle sniffing pig and that I dropped a rap album in the mid 90s as DJ sizzle?"

It all began when she tweeted: "According to Wiki I was in American Psycho playing a hooker. But credited as Christina Mckay. Really? Wtf? Wiki is such c**p.

"I feel like adding to Wiki that I was a pro baseball player and that my fav pastime is breathing fire. Any other suggestions?"

Among the false details added to the Career section in her page was: "Ms Applegate is taking over the world in 2012 just prior to the Mayan calendar collapsing."

In her Personal Life section, the additions included: "She is thinking about trying out for The Harlem Globetrotters. However, this will have to take a backseat to her current knitting obsession. Not many people know that she is in the Guinness Book of World Records for having knit the world's longest scarf. Next on her agenda? The world's thickest socks.

"She has harnessed her ability to shoot laser beams from her eyes to end tyranny against Milli Vanilli."
