All the single ladies. . . fans flock to Beyonce gig
UK POP singer Jamelia and TV stars Grainne and Sile Seoige were amongst the thousands paying homage to disco diva Beyonce.
A flood of fans in tight-disco pants, vertiginous stilettos and glittering mini-skirts descended on the O2 to enjoy the second of the pop star's Dublin gigs.
Mother-of-two Jamelia, who replaced Brian Kennedy as a judge on talent show 'The Voice of Ireland' this year, gave a cheeky smile as she joined the crowds.
Irish rugby star Leo Cullen, sporting a cut over his right eye, was with his wife Dairine. "I love her," said Dairine, as she went in to the venue, beaming.
Beyonce, who had a daughter Blue Ivy with her husband rapper Jay Z over a year ago, said her performances on stage were just "a few hours" of her day. "The rest of the time, I'm changing diapers, I'm with my family," she told a Sunday newspaper.
"I say a prayer with all my bandmates," she said, as she gave fans a brief insight into preparations before the concert. "We do a stretch. I just got a chair that gives me a great massage. So I sit in (it) while they do my hair and make-up."
Bride-to-be Emma Reid (25), from Blanchardstown, Dublin, who was with her sister and bridesmaid Vikki (30), said her tickets were a present from her fiance Michael Maher. "We're getting married next week," she said. "I'm more nervous about tonight." Sharon Grewal, from Birmingham, was celebrating her 24th birthday with a weekend in Dublin along with five friends.
