'Love/Hate' star Robert Sheehan has all but confirmed recent speculation that he will make a 'JR-style' return to the show.
The legions of fans of the gangland series were left devastated when gangster Darren Tracey was shot in the head in the shocking finale to Season 3.
But the heartthrob actor caused a sensation last week when he was spotted back on set of the filming of the fourth season in Clontarf, Dublin, apparently after making a miraculous recovery.
The Laois star told Maia Dunphy on RTE Radio that his return could have all the ingredients of the infamous 'Who Shot JR?' plotline.
"(It) wasn't the happiest of ends at the end of the third series but with the fourth I was indeed back briefly with the 'Love/Hate' gang. That's pretty much all I can say.
"Who knows? I could be the next Larry Hagman."
And the actor said he was looking forward to hitting the big screen in his role in upcoming film 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones'.
He is sharing the screen with Aidan Turner, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and supermodel Lily Collins in the film, which is tipped to be the blockbuster of the summer.
The adventure movie tells the story of a teenage girl sucked into a foreign world after her mother is kidnapped by a demon in New York.
The actor may have been back on the Dublin set of 'Love/Hate' in recent weeks but it is thought to be only a brief return before Hollywood beckons.
