Jason Segel says people would be "pretty upset" if he was named the Sexiest Man Alive.
Bradley Cooper was given the title in ‘People’ magazine’s annual poll last year, but many fans joined an online campaign to show their support for funny man Jason. The actor remains modest about his looks, insisting he doesn’t deserve the honour.
"There was once this internet campaign in that direction for me,” he told ‘Grazia magazine’. “If that had worked then 99.5 per cent of those people who are into really sexy men would have been pretty upset."
Previous winners of the accolade include Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Hugh Jackman.
Jason is famed for appearing in comedies such as ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’,’ Bad Teacher’ and ‘The Five-Year Engagement'. While he is happy to show off his humorous side on the big screen, he struggles when people expect him to be funny in real life.
"In social gatherings I am always the quietest,” he revealed. “Even if I disappoint a lot of people who would like to see me as an all-round entertainer."
Jason is currently dating actress Michelle Williams and the pair prefer to keep their romance out of the public spotlight.
The 32-year-old star has never craved fame and actively avoids reading things on the internet which could upset him.
"I never google myself because you always find the most horrific things," he said
