SHE has a new man in her life so it's no wonder Kathryn Thomas wanted to celebrate her birthday with an intimate dinner party with her boyfriend and family.
The RTE presenter toasted turning 35 with other half, restaurateur Padraig McLoughlin, on Monday -- and decided that a chilled-out meal was the perfect way to blow out her candles.
"I went for a bite to eat with himself, my mother and my aunt -- it was very civilised," the television host revealed.
While she also plans to celebrate this weekend with perhaps a more late-night affair, Carlow native Kathryn is preparing for her social life to take a back seat for the next couple of months as she gets stuck into the busiest time of her working year.
Between juggling Operation Transformation and The Voice of Ireland, Kathryn will be kept busy.
"It'll be pretty much a six-day week for me, but it's good because it keeps me out of trouble," she said. "A lot of the Voice has been pre-recorded so for the moment that allows me more time.
"Operation Transformaton is a six-day commitment and I could get a call at any stage of the day saying, 'get to this place, a contestant is having a meltdown'." And between shows, Kathryn will be busy trekking round the country to film segments with the new dieting series' leaders.
