The US singer is married to hip-hop star Jay-Z and they have 18-month-old daughter Blue Ivy. The couple have been together for over ten years and are proud of their solid relationship, with Beyoncé explaining she doesn't need advice on how to keep her husband happy.

"If you have to read those lists, you're already in trouble," she told Flaunt magazine, when asked if anything is ever missing from typical 'how to please your man' features.

The star's fifth studio album is due out later this year and Beyoncé is looking forward to hearing her fans' reactions. She is popular among gay men and is proud to join icons such as Cher and Madonna.

"I'm flattered if I'm in the company of those great women. I think they love that we are bold, unafraid to love, and flaunt our sexuality and strength," she gushed.

Beyoncé is known for being intensely private. She and Jay-Z didn't confirm their relationship for years and got married in secret in 2008, although recently she has loosened up a little. She has a Tumblr page she posts pictures on and also uses photo-sharing site Instagram.

Beyoncé still holds some things back, but is enjoying sharing the things that mean a lot to her via images.

The star has been blown away by the support she's received from fans, many of which have adopted her #beygood hashtag on social networking sites. The idea is to be kind to people, with Beyoncé believing the younger generation often get a hard time.

"At my concerts I see the opposite," she replied, when asked if young people are generally selfish. "They are engaged in making a difference. We have collected tons of donations that will go towards creating jobs and helping people get jobs. That's something I want to celebrate. For Chime for Change we raised awareness and over $4 million in one day for equal rights for girls everywhere. So many people at that concert were young. They are more socially responsible than they get credit for."

The 31-year-old star appears in an accompanying photoshoot, where she is almost unrecognisable. In one image her hair is scraped back making it look like it is cropped and it is covered in orange glitter. Her neck and chest are covered in purple, green and pink shimmer while her lips are a bold bronze hue.
