Scream queen' Jamie Lee Curtis proved going grey doesn't have to be scary when she ditched the dye at 49. "It helps if you can be courageous and cut your hair off like I did," says the mum of two (53). "It's much harder to transition with longer hair, since then you're stuck with two inches of grey roots."
Country crooner Emmylou Harris went prematurely grey in her 20s -- and stopped trying to hide it by her 40s. "It's the best thing I ever did," says the Grammy winner (65), who's now famous for her silver mane. "A lot of times, Mother Nature knows what she's doing."
Silver siren Helen Mirren didn't hit the bottle over going grey. "I embrace my age because there is no point in drawing a veil over the reality of life," says the 67-year-old. "To desperately try to pretend ageing isn't happening is silly."
