ACTRESS Charlie Murphy knows a thing or two when it comes to hair. Her mum Brenda owns Scissors Empire Hair Salon in Wexford and Charlie grew up surrounded by heated rollers and curling tongs.
But, the IFTA award-winning actress sported a seriously dodgy hairdo when she made her debut on Ripper Street.
The corkscrew ginger curls did little for the slim actress, who is best known for her role in RTE's gangland drama Love/Hate.
Charlie played the part of barmaid Evelyn Foley in the East End period drama.
While the ginger locks may not be the best look, Charlie says getting dressed up in an array of different ensembles is one of the perks of her job.
"I love trying on the costumes; it's one of my favourite things. You don't normally get to dress up in petticoats. It's not stuff you would ordinarily try on so it's great because you find all these different styles of clothes," she said.
Charlie filmed the episodes earlier this year in Clancy Barracks (top right), just weeks after moving over to London with her boyfriend.
"It's sod's law," she said at the time.
"The second I moved to London in January, I was being called back to Dublin for work." The 25-year-old actress is currently filming North Men: A Viking Saga.
Production kicked off in South Africa in September. Murphy plays female lead Inghean in the film, working alongside True Blood actor Ryan Kwanten and Tom Hopper.
Charlie was back in Dublin in recent weeks for the Irish Tatler Woman of the Year award where she picked up Woman of the Year in Film and Drama.
"It was a huge honour and I had an absolute ball," she said.
