RTE star Claire Byrne has given birth to her first child.
The broadcaster went into labour last night at Holles Street Hospital.
Claire (38), gave birth to little Patrick earlier today, and both mother and baby are doing well.
Her agent Noel Kelly, issued a statement on her behalf today.
"Claire Byrne and Gerry Scollan are delighted to announce the arrival of their new baby boy, Patrick Scollan," the statement read.
"Mum, Dad and Baby are all doing well and would like to thank everyone for the good wishes."
She is currently engaged to Gerry Scollan, an IT consultant with Microsoft, and previously gushed about her excitement at being pregnant with her first child.
The couple opted to wait to find out the gender of the baby, but she did say earlier this summer that she had a hunch she was carrying a girl.
"It's just a hunch but that's what I feel," she said.
"Quite a few people have said it to me by the way that I'm carrying. All the books say this is nonsense – but sometimes you have to listen to people with experience, don't you?"
She's in good company in Holles Street with Georgina Ahern, Nicky Byrne's wife, who is resting after giving birth to their baby daughter Gia on Wednesday.
"So long as it all happens as it should and that we have a happy and healthy baby at the end of it all that's the main thing."
