SPRING may have officially sprung, but our weather is set to take a decidedly wintry turn this week with snow again on the horizon.

Met Eireann has warned of the risk of flooding, snow, frost and ice making for a chilly Easter Week. Heavy rain today could lead to some localised flooding in parts of the east and south and the rains could turn to sleet or even snow later in the day.

Tomorrow will bring more rain, sleet and snow to the eastern half of the country with further accumulations of snow in places, particularly in the mountains. Wednesday and Thursday will bring a mixture of bright and sunny spells with occasional wintry showers. Some snow will fall in the west and north.

Met Eireann said that present indications for the Easter weekend suggest it will remain cold and changeable.
