The rain may be here to stay for the next few days, but we can hope for sunny weather later on in the week.

Scattered showers are predicted across the country for the first half of the week.

There is some good news though as Met Eireann predict that there will be some warm weather later on in the week.

“The weather this week is changeable, cooler at the start of the week with showers,” a forecaster told Independent.ie.

“Later on the week it will get milder but the clouds will disappear making the sunlight more pleasant. However temperatures are below average for this time of year. July would usually be in the mid 20’s but this week they’ll be in the mid to late teens.”

Later today the clouds will clear and there will be some sun with an occasional shower. Temperatures are expected to reach between 15 to 19 degrees.

Tuesday will be much the same with slightly cooler temperatures.

Wednesday will lift our spirits with sun and most of the country with remain dry.

Thursday will be cooler with rain appearing in the late afternoon.

After the rain passes Friday is set to be humid and warm with good spells of sunshine.

And finally, some good news, Met Eireann predicts a warm and mainly dry weekend.
