Don't forget the rain gear and sunglasses if you're heading to Body and Soul this weekend.

A period of mixed weather is predicted for the country this weekend.

Met Eireann advises that festival-goers heading to Body and Soul festival in Westmeath or Sea Sessions in Donegal this weekend should pack for variable weather.

A lot of cloud is forecast across Ireland with a few patches of rain and drizzle for Friday.

But the good news is that it will be dry in most parts.

The north and northwest will experience a few bright spells this evening, which will be welcome news for anyone travelling to Bundoran for Sea Sessions.

Highs of 14 are expected up north, while the rest of the country can look forward to highs between 18 and 19 degrees.

"A dull start for many places with patchy rain and drizzle for Saturday, warns Met Eireann.

But the day will gradually brighten with some sunny spells.

The north west can expect highs between 14 and 16, while the south and southwest will see the Mercury hit 19 or 20 degrees.

Sunday will see "a lot of cloud across the country with some patchy rain or drizzle in southern places".

It will be mostly dry, according to Met Eireann but overcast.

Highs of 14 degrees are again expected in the northwest, with warmer temperatures of 18 or 19 expected in the south.
