Met Eireann warns of thundery April showers, ground frost and fog as sun disappears

FORGET the sunshine. Met Eireann has warned of further thundery showers in places today as up to a month’s rainfall is expected to fall this week alone.

While mist and fog patches clear, cloudy weather with rain in Munster and south Leinster is expected.

Other parts of the country will experience some sunny spells but showers will become more widespread this afternoon with cool temperatures of 10C to 12C.

Showers are expected to persist along the west coast tonight with some grass frost developing as well as fog and mist.

The lowest temperatures will be 0C to 4.
