Warm conditions being enjoyed throughout the country will get even better as the mercury soars tomorrow.

"Thursday will definitely be the best day of the week," said Met Éireann forecaster Klara Finkele.

The current spell of warm weather resulted in temperatures climbing to 21.4C in Dublin's Phoenix Park yesterday.

Today, temperatures will rise as high as 23C in some places as high pressure causes the clouds to break up for a warm afternoon.

"Temperatures will go up to 23C or 24C on Thursday and could even hit 25C," said the forecaster.

The advice is to enjoy the warm weather while it lasts, as Friday will become cloudy again, with some rain and showers in the west which will move eastwards to the rest of the country overnight.

There will be showers on Saturday, but the east of the country looks like it may get the best of the weather with a "hit-and-miss" chance of showers for Guns N' Roses concert goers in Slane.

On Sunday, thundery conditions are threatened. Temperatures will become somewhat cooler with the chance of some heavy showers.

Rain will be most likely in the west and north.
