The wet and miserable weather is here to stay as Met Éireann predicts scattered showers and downpours for most of the week.
“Today will be a cloudy day with scattered showers. In western coastal areas rain will develop during the later afternoon extending to all areas in the evening,” said Met Éireann.
Highest temperatures today will range from 16 degrees in the north-west to 20 degrees in the south.
"Wednesday will continue to be dull and cloudy with scattered showers across the country but there will be some sunny spells too.

“Thursday will also have a dull start with persistent heavy rain during the early morning and the rain will gradually move eastwards,” according to a Met Éireann forecaster.
However the sun may come out for the weekend with early indications that Friday and Saturday will be mostly dry with light winds, sunny spells and just a few showers.
