North Korea’s leader was visibly limping as he appeared at a ceremony to commemorate the death his grandfather.

Kim Jong-un was attending the ceremony to celebrate the death of Kim ll-sung the country’s founder and his grandfather. He appeared to be walking slower and favouring his left leg as he went through proceedings.

The ceremony was a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the death of Kim ll-sung, the state's founder and Kim Jong-un's grandfather.

The 31 year old leader was made leader of the closed state in 2011 after the death of his father Kim Jong-il. His reign has been dogged by controversy with missile tests, execution of relatives and threats of violence against the directors of the comedy film The Interview.
