THE giant Radisson SAS hotels chain has emerged as the operator of the new £20m five-star St. Helen's Hotel, opposite Belfield in Stillorgan, Co. Dublin.
Situated on four acres of parkland with formal gardens originally designed by Ninian Niven, the 85,000 sq.ft. heritage listed building was restored by the owners Cosgrave Property Group which also added with a new four storey bedroom wing.
The 250-year-old landmark property was purchased from Berland for around £2m in February 1996, and it now provides 150 bedrooms, including 24 suites, each with air-conditioning and data facilities.
Likely to cost from £175 per night upwards, the hotel has a magnificent marble clad reception hall and ballroom, a restaurant, diningroom, lounges, meeting rooms, a spectacular new conservatory and parking for 170 cars.
The management contract deal with Radisson, arranged through agents Finnegan Menton, will bring this chain's worldwide complement to over 460 hotel and resort locations representing over 94,000 guest rooms in 42 countries plus five luxury cruise ships.
