The ironic thing about being thrifty is that I've always got something to spend my money on, so I never have any.
Take New Year's Eve for example. I worked out that a night in was probably not much cheaper than a night in the pub. Having invited myself along to the pub, I decided my local pub isn't much fun. I upped the stakes to a night out but, when I worked out the cost, it was expensive. Having worked out that a night in was now out, and a night out was now out, I was delighted to discover that a luxurious night at a hotel was actually the most thrifty option. You can now see why I never have any money!
