Around San Francisco
I’m going on honeymoon next year to San Francisco. Could you area or beach for a week in the sun or a resort that might be good? Frank
San Francisco, though beautifully situated on the coast, isn’t a sunshine destination. The Bay Area is prone to fog, so for guaranteed sunshine head further south.
The good news is that following Highway One south is one of the world’s great drives, passing beautiful, upscale towns such as Carmelby- the-Sea and Monterey.
These, however, are places to chill out, eat and drink great food, rather than relax on the beach. For this, you must head south of LA to the strands of Laguna Beach.
It’s not an unspoilt gem, and there’s plenty of d e v e l o p m e n t around, but it does offer some excellent sand, with an interesting artists community that has grown up around it to explore.
Or you could hop on a flight to Hawaii and really seek out those paradise beaches
