He's referring to the fact that, in his latest comedy venture, he plays a character whose circumstances are not entirely different from his dad's. Rory O'Hanlon, a former Ceann Comhairle, has been a TD for more than 30 years, and in Val Falvey TD Ardal is also a Teachta Dála -- though, it has to be said, of an altogether less distinguished variety.
