Nine queens share their crown

Sunday December 20 2009

AS I walk in to meet Nicole Kidman it seems appropriate that the temperature in the room feels like it has dropped several degrees. Kidman has always had a reputation as a bit of an ice queen, but this is ridiculous. Surely she isn't so cold that the air around her begins to freeze as a result of her very presence?

Ian O'Doherty: Free at last. Free at last!

Ian O'Doherty Tuesday December 15 2009

Today is a good day for semi-smart people everywhere. The X Factor finally finished its belligerent blitzkrieg on television audiences on Sunday, which saw yet another repeat performance from everyone's favourite Geordie toilet-attendant-basher Cheryl Cole as she continued to cry her way into the nation's heart while Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell pretended to bicker with each other.
