Pope warns of damnation for mobsters

Pope Francis has warned mobsters they will go to hell if they don't repent and renounce their "blood-stained money and blood-stained power".

Pope Francis delivered the forceful, off-the-cuff speech to a prayer vigil yesterday for relatives of people killed by the mafia, during which the names of 842 victims were read aloud.

He said: "This life that you live now won't give you pleasure.

"Repent. There's still time to not end up in hell, which is what awaits you if you continue on this path." (© AP)
