Swedish furniture retailer IKEA have ventured into the world of weddings.

The household superstore have launched a brand new digital wedding business, Bröllop, which will allow a bride and groom to virtually share their big day with guests around the world.

The newlyweds can open their big day to guests who either cannot afford to visit their destination wedding or if a family member is unable to attend for health reasons.

All both parties need is a webcam,  microphone and a  good internet connection.

The idea, in theory, brings families and friends together, however the reality isn't as glamorous.

Those hosting the party can choose a background and/or theme for the big day, while digitally posting your picture on a virtual version of your body.
