The radio presenter has often spoken eloquently about her experience dealing with cancer in the year since she received news that she had Hodgkin's lymphoma.

The revelation came after months of tests, finally putting a name on the mystery illness that had taken over her body for a long time before the official diagnosis.

The Dublin native took a step back from her presenting job  on RTE as she regained control over her health, and after six months of chemotherapy, Louise announced on Daffodil Day in March that she'd been given the all clear.

In April, she returned to the station to reprise her role on air and has often praised the support she received from both close friends, family and utter strangers who offered their kind words online.

"I genuinely feel really lucky. I don't want to sound like a bit of an idiot, but I have never felt as lucky as I have since I got cancer. What I experienced compared to what other people go through was nothing," she recently told the Irish Independent.

"When you sit with people who are sicker than you, having a really hard time and struggling to even speak to you because they can't breathe, it's very difficult to feel sorry for yourself.

"Yeah I had cancer, but I didn't have any complications. It wasn't easy, it was hard, chemo is hard. But at the same time, I have friends who had to have surgery and radiation. I just did six months of chemo, and now I'm grand."

"People have been so amazing since I've been sick. I have been so lucky with the support, from people I don't know and people I do. The whole thing is a changing experience, but receiving that kind of kindness will have a lasting impact on how I feel about pretty much everything."

The 32-year-old wrote on Twitter today, "This day last year I was diagnosed with cancer. Today I'm starting my wedding celebrations. What a difference a year makes."

"Oh and modern medicine. Modern medicine had a lot of influence here as well," she added.

The broadcaster will tie the knot with Gordon tomorrow in Co Cork.
