The other royal wedding: The Sultan of Brunei's son weds in lavish ceremony with diamond heels and 5,000 guests
The heir to one of the wealthiest fortuntes in the world wed in spectacular fashion.
Prince Abdul Malik (31) is the son of the Sultan of Brunei, one of the wealthiest people in the world, and second in line to the oil rich nation's throne.
He wed former computer data analyst Raabi'atul Adawiyyah (22) on April 5th and the couple's celebrations will last until April 10th.
The now-billionaire bride opted for a bouquet of gems rather than flowers and both bride and groom's wedding outfits were covered in diamonds. Even her shoes, a pair of Christian Louboutin heels, had been embellished with diamonds.
For her something borrowed, she wore a parure, which consists of a diamond tiara with emeralds; a diamond and emerald necklace and diamond brooch which belongs to her mother-in-law.
The celebrations began on April 5th and were pictured yesterday for the first time after their ceremony in front of a reported 5,000 guests.
The pair were pictured sitting on gold thrones in the Istana Nurul Iman Palace in Brunei, southeast Asia, with a population of approximately 400,000 people.
The nation may be small, but is one of the wealthiest due to an oil-fuelled economy.
