Snooki is going to make her bridesmaids try on "hideous" dresses so she can laugh at them.

The former Jersey Shore star is set to wed her fiancé Jionni LaValle later this year. They have been engaged since 2012 but put wedding plans on the backburner so they could concentrate on their 18-month-old son Lorenzo.

Now going full steam ahead with the preparations, Snooki is excited to pick out the outfits for her wedding party.

"I’m also going bridesmaid dress shopping next week with my maid of honor to pick out dresses for my girls! My wedding colors are gold and black, so she will be trying on a million gold and black dresses. Dresses that I love, and dresses that are hideous just to give me a laugh (sic)," she wrote on her blog.

Snooki's wedding has a Great Gatsby theme and will take place in the fall. She is planning to ask the people she wants to be bridesmaids if they will accept by presenting them with a goodie bag filled with things linking to the theme. At the moment she's keeping the exact contents a secret so the surprise isn't ruined.

The 26-year-old star has already picked out her gown and thinks people will be surprised by how easy-going she's being in terms of planning.

"Thank god the planning has not given me a headache yet. I’m happy to say i have not had any bride/diva moments yet! I don’t want to be that kind of bride. I want a fun and loving bride, with no stress. I’ll let you know how that goes after the bridesmaids dresses... (sic)," she wrote.

Last month, Snooki opened up about the dress she will wear on her big day. She is looking forward to seeing the shock on people's faces when she walks down the aisle as she has gone for a totally different style to what many would expect.

"I got an elegant ball gown for the church and a mermaid-style dress with a poufy train for the reception. Everyone expects me to wear glitter and leopard, and I’m like, 'Maybe if I got married four years ago,'" she laughed.
