Stephanie, from Carlow, and Adam, from Cambridgeshire, met in Geneva through work.

After hitting it off straight away the pair developed a long-distance romance between London and Dublin, before Stephanie eventually moved to the UK. After eight years together, Adam proposed to Stephanie during a weekend getaway to Bath.

It was important for Stephanie that the pair marry in her local church, St Michael's in Tullow. And when it came to the reception - held in a marquee on the family farm - she says: "It started out as a bit of a joke to have the reception at home and it just snowballed from there! In the end it was perfect for us because it's a special place with lots of fantastic memories, and helped create the relaxed and informal atmosphere we were going for."

The bride's dress, by Ellis Bridal, was purchased in England, and Adam's suit was from Ted Baker. Stephanie's aunt Majella took charge of all the floral decorations both in the church and for the reception. Stephanie says: "There was a lot of work involved having the wedding at home. If it was not for the support of my mam, neighbours, family and friends I don't think it would have been possible. It really does take a village!"

The pair wanted to keep the meal informal to befit the day, and Ali Davis Food Caterers were able to provide just what they wanted: canapes including tempura fish and chip cones, and Greek lamb pittas, and a dessert table with salted caramel tarts and macaroon bombs.

After the wedding Stephanie and Adam spent 10 days relaxing in Lake Garda, Italy, and having opted for a honeymoon gift list, were able to enjoy some additional perks all thanks to their generous guests.
