When Ronan from Meath met Clare from Dublin through a mutual friend, he decided to woo her with a trip to the cinema followed by dinner in Eddie Rocket's. The pair got engaged in 2012 at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin and chose a New Year's Eve wedding so that they could celebrate with friends and family who were home for the holidays.
They opted for a ceremony at the Church of the Annunciation in Bansha, Tipperary before continuing their festive wedding at Kilshane House. Clare says that they "loved the setting and the fact we had Kilshane House to ourselves over the course of the wedding".
Personal touches were important to the couple and they decided to hang photos of their family and friends around the venue to keep guests entertained during the drinks reception before their five-course meal. Clare's mother, Anne, made the cake and her bridesmaid, Yvonne, did the icing and decoration, while Ronan's father and brother made a beautiful nostalgic timber sweet-cart with a photo of the couple at the centre.
At the end of their fabulous day, the wedding party rang in the New Year in style with a fireworks display at midnight. After the celebrations had ended, Clare and Ronan honeymooned in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam for three weeks.
