Real Irish Weddings: Love at first sight for Jason and Katherine

Jason and Katherine, both from Cork, met through a mutual friend at a house party Jason held.
Katherine says it was love at first sight and not long after, they had their first date at Grogan's pub in Dublin where the scene was perfectly set off by snowfall.
The pair later moved to Australia where they lived for two years. There, Jason surprised Katherine with a weekend away in the Grampian Mountains, getting down on one knee while out hill walking.
A few months before the wedding Katherine and Jason moved home again and decided to use the beautiful city of Cork as the setting to celebrate their big day.
"Living abroad gave us more of a sense of what and where home is," says Katherine. "We are proud to be from Cork and loved the fact we could have it as the backdrop to our wedding."
They opted for an intimate church ceremony in the Honan Chapel at UCC before holding a reception at Springfort Hall in Mallow.
"We were looking for a beautiful country house and surrounding woodlands. We were also looking for somewhere with a warm atmosphere as we knew it was going to be a winter wedding. The banquet room had to be special and Springfort Hall had it all," says Katherine.
The bride found her dream dress in Bella Bleu in the city while the groom suited up in Tom Murphy's Menswear on Patrick Street. After their special day Jason and Katherine honeymooned in Rome, soaking up the culture, the food, and the wine for a week.
