Real Irish Weddings: Erin & Shane return home to Donegal for elegant wedding

Erin and Shane, both from Donegal, met five years ago in the hallway of their college while they were both students.
"I was talking to a mutual friend of ours. Shane came over and we introduced ourselves and discussed where we were going out that night. We ended up at the same college party that night and the rest is history," says Erin.
The pair now live in Edmonton, Canada, and when Shane popped the question (while on a long layover in Chicago, as they travelled home to Ireland for a Christmas break) they knew there was only one place to wed - Donegal.
Erin and Shane had a Catholic wedding ceremony and held their reception in the Inishowen Gateway Hotel, in Erin's hometown.
"Once I saw how the room looked I knew I wanted to have our reception there. We are so happy with our decision, everything was amazing," says Erin.
The pair decided to theme the day with the colours pink and gold, including custom-made napkins - the perfect finishing touch. They also had illustrator Emma Kenny draw their caricatures with which they created a signing board, and as a tribute to the music they enjoyed in Chicago, Erin and Shane had a saxophone player entertain at their drinks reception.
After their whirlwind day, Erin and Shane took a break to travel around the south and west of Ireland before returning to Canada.
